Bhatkal: Sirsi MLA Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri accused the State government of trying to conspire against the Hindus, who are fighting against injustice, under Goonda Act.

Briefing reporters, on Monday, he said, lack of municipal council officials is directly responsible for the unfortunate incident during evicting the shops, which falls under council premises in Bhatkal.

He said, the district in-charge minister, local MLAs and deputy commissioner could have tried to resolve the issue on time.

“This issue will be brought to the notice in Belagavi assembly session, and action will be taken against those responsible for the arrest of innocents,” he added.

He said though Public Works Department has sufficient money to repair road trenches in rural areas, it has not taken any action. The Matru Poorna Scheme launched by State government has become problematic to pregnant and lactating women, as they do not prefer to walk long way to get nourishment at anganwadis, he added.
