The State government on Thursday has given approval for setting up oxygen storage and production units in the premises of Karwar Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) here.
The liquid oxygen storage unit having six kilo litre capacity, and the oxygen production unit would start functioning in next three weeks, said KIMS Director Gajanan Nayak.

70 per cent of the available stock of Covishield in Karnataka would be utilised to vaccinate people above 45 years of age who are due for second dose, Health Minister K Sudhakar said on Saturday.
