Oxygen storage unit sanctioned for Karwar

Karwar: The State government on Thursday has given approval for setting up oxygen storage and production units in the premises of Karwar Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) here.

The liquid oxygen storage unit having six kilo litre capacity, and the oxygen production unit would start functioning in next three weeks, said KIMS Director Gajanan Nayak. 

He said, District In-charge Minister Shivaram Hebbar, and MLA Roopali Naik succeeded to convince the government about the necessity of establishing the units. The oxygen storage unit is being set up at a cost of Rs 70.50 lakh, he added.
