Mangaluru: Mithun Rai, former president of DK district Youth Congress, has urged the chief minister to direct the police to book criminal case against MP Tejasvi Surya for targeting Muslim employees working in the BBMP South zone war room.
Taking objection to Tejasvi Surya listing out 17 Muslim names, linking them with the alleged bed-blocking scam in Bengaluru's south municipal zone, Rai said that Surya is attempting to sow the seeds of hate when the country is struggling to cope up with Covid-19 pandemic.
The MP is engaged in communal politics and trying to disrupt peace in society. Stating that the country will overcome Covid-19 infection over a period of time, he asked, when will the people of the country raise above communal infection. Shortage of oxygen and ICU beds is the failure of the state government, he added.
He urged the government to announce ration kits for the BPL and APL families in the state.
Mithun Rai has submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra K V and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel to increase ventilators at Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru. Only 70 beds have ventilator facility in the hospital, which should be increased for the benefit of the patients.
