Mangaluru: A large number of beneficiaries waited in a long queue outside the vaccination centre at Wenlock Hospital to receive second dose of vaccine on Saturday.
In spite of the Health officials asking only the beneficiaries of second dose to reach the vaccination centres, anxious citizens who had registered in Co-win for the first jab too, had arrived expecting to get a jab. Gauri Shenoy said: “It looks like I won’t get the vaccine as there is a long queue of beneficiaries to receive the second jab.”
Dr Rajesh, in charge of the vaccination in Dakshina Kannada district said for the past one week, priority was given for second dose. None will be denied vaccine.
He appealed to the people not to gather in large numbers at the vaccination centre. On Saturday, 350 doses were given to the District Wenlock Hospital, 200 doses in Moodbidri, 200 dose each in health centres at Mulki, Ullal, and 180 doses in Surathkal.
