Yellapur: In a grisly road between bike and the mini truck, both rider and pillion of the bike were killed instantly on the spot that happened on a Sunday evening here on NH-63 near Kolikere in Hubli road, Yellapur. 

The deceased were identified as Malatesh Rama Bhovi (31) and Ravidas Dasharatha Mirashi (27), both residents of  Kirvatti and were professionally a tiles workers. The third person on the bike, namely, Ravishankar Ghatake (23) sustained serious injuries in the incident. He was later shifted to KIMS hospital in Hubli after providing initial treatments at Yellapur govt hospital.

Sources said that the incident occurred when the bike in which they were traveling was on the way towards Yellapur from Kirvatti, while the speedy mini truck vehicle was in the opposite direction. Both went on colliding each other.

As the information was alerted, the police personnel rushed to the spot. The driver of pick-up vehicle surrendered. A case has been registered and further investigations are on.
