Kundapur: A tragic incident took  place today at 9:30am where a bus and Maruti Omni filled with school children collided with one another resulting in death of 8 children and injuring 6.

This accident took place at Trasi NH66 when a speeding bus heading from Kundapur to Gangolli hit the Maruti Omni resulting in death of 3 children on the spot. The injured children were taken to Manipal Hospital where 5 succumbed to their death.

It is reported that the children from Don Bosco were on their way to school when the mishap took place.

Gangolli Police immediately reached on the spot and helped in shifting the injured to Manipal Hospital. The identification of the children are yet to be done and more details are awaited.
