New Delhi: A ground handling staff at the Indira Gandhi International airport (IGIA) here has been arrested for allegedly stealing a mobile phone of an Iraqi woman traveller.
CISF officials said the incident occurred last morning when a woman flier travelling to Bengaluru, identified as N Shayan from Iraq, complained to CISF personnel that her phone, worth around Rs 50000, had gone missing from the check-in counter.
Following the complaint, Central Industrial Security Force officials scanned the CCTV footage and found that a man had picked up the mobile phone from a trolley that Shayan had used to transport her luggage.
Security officials soon nabbed the man, identified as Kewal Singh who works for a company tasked with conveyor belts maintenance at the IGIA.
"Singh was handed over to Delhi Police which arrested him for theft," they said.
