Bhatkal: Two buildings of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen, ' Jukaku Shamsuddin Memorial Administrative building' and 'S M Yahya Memorial PG block' were inaugurated by Uttara Kannada District Incharge Minister R V Deshpande and Moulana Maqsood Imran, Imam of Jamia Masjid, Bengaluru on Sunday.
Addressing the gathering after inauguration,minister R V Deshpande praised the Jukaku family for their contribution towards the building terming it as an 'exemplary contribution' and thanked them on behalf of the government.
Citing an example of his trust in Haliyal where he provides training, free education,accommodation and food to the school-dropouts and transform them into the independent members of the society and urged everyone to contribute for the upliftment of education in the society.
Talking about the literacy ratio among the minorities, he encouraged the muslims to get education and asked the parents to inculcate morals and discipline their children to make responsible citizens.
Moulana Maqsood Imran also expressed his views on humanity, and added that humanity is of the utmost importance. Mohammed Ateeque of MMEWS educational institutions of Jodhpur, requested the Anjuman authorities to start technical courses along with the regular education. MLA Mankal Vaidya said that everybody should strive to make the dream of establishment of medical college and airport, a reality.
On this occasion, Dr. S M Syed Khaleelur Rahman, Dr. Tayyab Jukaku, Fazlur Rahman Jukaku, Muzammil Kazia also expressed their views.
President of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen, Abdur Raheem Jukaku presided over the function and said that the Anjuman institutions are built upon the donations of the people of Bhatkal. He thanked Dr. S M Syed Khaleelur Rahman, Dr. Ismail Kazia, Ismail Damudi and others for providing buildings.
Meanwhile, a book written by Bhatkal's famous English writer Aftab Hussain Kola, on Late Shamsuddin Jukaku was released by RV Deshpande.
Dr. S M Syed Khaleelur Rahman was also felicitated for his honorary doctorate.
The program started with the recitation of verses of the Holy Quran. General Secretary of AHM, Kashimji Mohammed Ansar welcomed the gathering. Aftab Hussain Kola and Mohsin Kharuri hosted the program while secretary Aftab Qamri gave his vote of thanks. Vice president-I Abdur Rahman Batin presented a fantastic speech on Late Shamsuddin Jukaku.
