
Bhatkal: Uttara Kannada Superintendent of Police (SP) Narayan M. has been selected for the prestigious Director General of Police (DGP) Commendation Disc for the year 2024–25, along with several other officers from across Karnataka. The felicitation ceremony is scheduled to be held in Bengaluru on May 21.
According to sources, Anjumala T. Naik, a native of Ankola and currently serving as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) in the CID department in Bengaluru, has also been chosen for the honour. In addition, Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Basavaraj Mabanur from Ramanagara Police Station in Uttara Kannada district is among the recipients.
The DGP Commendation Disc is awarded to police personnel in recognition of their sincerity, integrity, and outstanding contributions to the police force. The medal is conferred only once in an officer’s career and is applicable to both senior and junior ranks.
Sources further revealed that this year’s list of honorees includes Dr. K. Arun from the neighbouring Udupi district. Other recipients include Violet Femina, Sub-Inspector at Malpe Coastal Security Police; Gurudas, Head Constable at Kundapur Traffic Police Station; and Santosh, Head Constable with the Udupi Armed Reserve Force.
The DGP Commendation Disc is considered one of the most esteemed recognitions in the Karnataka police department, symbolizing dedication, exemplary service, and professional excellence.
