Karwar: Sub-inspector (SI) Venkatesh Harijan (49) working with the wireless cell at the office of the Superintendent of Police in Karwar collapsed and died at Mangaluru railway station on Monday.

He had been to Mangaluru for treatment. While sitting at the railway station, he suddenly collapsed.

The railway police said that the doctors who examined him confirmed that he was dead.

He is survived by wife and daughter. His last rites were conducted in Dandeli.
