    Heat wave prevails in Karnataka: IMD

    The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday recorded heat wave condition with the highest temperature of 42.3 degrees Celsius in Karnataka's Kalaburagi district following a rise in temperature during night hours also. Locals reportedly have been consuming cold drinks to beat the heat and choosing to stay in their houses to avoid the heat wave here.

    Kerala on Tuesday promulgated an ordinance making Malayalam a compulsory subject in all schools in the state up to Class X.
