MANGALURU: Sri Ram Sene state general secretary Anand Shetty Adyar said that the BJP should not field its candidates in Karkala, the constituency currently represented by energy, Kannada and culture minister V Sunil Kumar.

The Sene leader told reporters here on Thursday, that the BJP should support their leader Pramod Muthalik, who will be contesting from Karkala as an independent candidate. He also warned that Hindu organisations will have to take a serious stand if the BJP fields a candidate against Muthalik.

“Muthalik has been working for the nation and religion, sacrificing all his personal commitments and family for the past 47 years. The society is dismayed over the rampant corruption, anti-Hindu policies and apathy towards Hindu leaders. People hope to see honest leaders as their representatives. Hence, the Sri Ram Sene has decided that Muthalik should contest from Karkala,” he said.
