Bhatkal: Students from various schools and colleges in Bhatkal on Wednesday staged a demonstration outside the Mini Vidhana Soudha in solidarity with social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is on a hunger strike in New Delhi in support of students.

The students submitted a memorandum through the Assistant Commissioner, urging the government to take stringent and effective measures to prevent examination paper leaks and ensure that the country's examination system is transparent, fair and free from corruption.

They also called on the government to seriously consider Sonam Wangchuk's demands and concerns regarding educational reforms and student welfare, and to resolve the issues through meaningful democratic dialogue.
