Bhatkal: Two students who reportedly went on drowning in the Arabian sea here at Murdeshwar in Bhatkal taluk, were recovered on the morning of 3rd October, Tuesday.

The victim-students were identified as Ganesh Maasti Naik (12) and Vinayak alias Nagaraj Nagesh Naik (14), both are said to be the residents of Shashihital village near Murdeshwar.

Police sources informed that the incident happened on Monday evening when a group of students was playing in the sea, which as a result two of them went on drowning due to the high tides. The search operation for the bodies was conducted for the whole night. However, their bodies were found today morning on the same beach.

A case has been registered in the Murdeshwar police station and further investigations are on.
