Ankola: In a gruesome road accident that took place between a bike and a truck, bike rider sustained serious injuries that happened near the Gaurikere NH-66 of Ankola on the evening of 3rd June, Saturday.

The injured bike rider was identified as Prabhu Tandhwell, a resident of Karwar. The pillion of the bike received minor injuries, who was identified as Raghu Harikantra of Ankola.

The incident took place as the wandering cow came in between the road while the bike was on the way towards Karwar from Ankola. The bike rider tried to avoid hitting the cow, which in turn lost the control and collided with the truck. The bike rider Prabhu received grievous injuries to his leg, who was taken to Karwar civil hospital after providing initial treatments at Ankola Govt hospital.

As per the information received, Prabhu had been to Ankola to drop his friend Raghu after attending a marriage ceremony at Karwar.
