Tree planted by students in memory of deceased karate master Vasu Naik

Bhatkal: A programme was held at New English Premises by Shotokan Karate institute in order to pay their tribute to the famous Karate master Vasu Naik who died recently due to a fatal brain disease.

Silence was maintained for a period of 2 minutes in the memory of the late karate master by the people present at the programme. His students showed their respect by offering a garland on his picture.

Arvind Naik, a karate teacher and a lawyer from Kumta said that Wasu acquired fame by providing karate education to a large number of students from Bhatkal. He was not only a great teacher but also provided economic help to those who were in need.

Kiran Shanbhag said that Karate Wasu has been teaching Karate in Bhatkal since 1993 and has even talked about giving free karate education to economically backward children.

Kanara Sahitya Parishad local president Gangadhar Naik, Block Congress President Utthal Naik and owner of Friends Gym Venkatesh Naik appreciated Vasu’s simplicity, seriousness and nobility.

Karwar’s Karate teacher C Rajan, Suresh Moger, Manoj Naik and Ishwar Naik who came from different districts, along with the gathered people planted a Mango tree to pay tribute to the deceased Karate master.
