BELLARY: A tanker, carrying cooking oil worth around Rs 25 lakh, turned turtle on the National Highway 50 near Chikkajogihalli cross.

The tanker, which was traveling towards LN Gudi (Tamil Nadu) from Rajkot (Gujarat), met the accident, because of the driver's negligence. Fortunately, the driver and cleaner escaped without any injury.

Hearing the news, locals rushed to the spot with cans and pots to take the oil home, following which police resorted to lathi-charge to control the mob.

After the local station PSI Krishna Nayak reached the spot, the case was registered in the local police station.
