Sirsi: Ramakrishna Hedge is a model for present day's politicians, who are practicing vote bank politics, Vinayak Seva Trust Chairman NP Gaovnkar opined.

Speaking at Ramakrishna Hedge Jayanthi Celebrations organised by Abhimana Sanskriti Vedike, on Tuesday, he said that, though Ramakrishna Hegde took power as chief minister when the State suffered severe crisis, he managed them positively.

He also said, Ramakrishna Hedge implemented the secularism from root level, without limiting it in speeches and if he was allowed to became Prime Minister, then the image of the country would have been changed, however, the youth in the district are failed to inculcate the principles of Ramakrishna Hedge, he lamented.

The prizes were distributed to winners of essay competition conducted on the eve of Ramakrishna Jayanthi celebration. Abhimana Sanskriti Vedike President V N Bhagwat also spoke. M N Hedge, Iqbal Shaikh, K R Hedge were present.
