Absconding accused in assault case arrested after 37 years in Puttur

Puttur: Police have arrested a person after 37 years of the incident, accusing him that he was involved in the assault case. The accused is identified as Abdul Khader.

Reports said that a group of 14 people including Abdul Khader, in the year 1979 had assaulted a youth named Abdul Ghani. After the incident, Abdul Khader fled to Bahrain and was settled there for many years. In the year 2010, he returned back to India and was staying in a village called Gawa. 

The police opened up the files and cross checked for the old pending cases, where they found this case. Studying the case, police investigated the matter and arrested the accused Abdul Khader from his place.

A team led by Sub-inspector Omanna arrested the Abdul Khader from Gaaw village and produced him in the court.
