Karwar: Over the laxity in dealing with the sea erosion which has been reported at the Nakudamohalla in Karwar taluk, the local residents have flayed elected representatives and officials.

One of the residents Amjad Ali Sheikh has stated that MLA Satish Sail had visited the spot three months ago and assured construction of protection wall.

“So far no construction or precautionary measures has been taken up”, Amjad said. He added, “The waves in sea have become ferocious and people are living under fear.”

A temporary wall has been voluntarily constructed by the locals to avoid any untoward incident. However, the district administration has not yet visited the spot.

The residents have demanded that the district administration must visit and inspect the spot as well as take concrete measures to protect the lives of the people and avoid untoward incidents.
