Karwar: MP Ananth Kumar Hegde has welcomed the ruling of the Supreme Court to ban 'Instant triple talaq' among Muslims. He told reporters here on 22nd August, Tuesday.

“It’s a victory of many Muslim women, who fought against triple talaq. Instant talaq has been banned for the next six months. As the Apex Court has asked the government to come out with a law in this regard, the Lok Sabha will discuss the matter. The court verdict will change the future of the country.” Earlier, at a review meeting at ZP auditorium, He directed ZP CEO L Chandrashekhar Naik to submit a report on rural self-employment training (RST) given by banks in the district.
