Mangaluru: Three accused have been arrested by Mangaluru CCB police in regard to the attempt to murder on Mohammed Sajid, a student of a city based engineering college.

The accused have been identified as Pranesh Poojary(20), son of Madhava Poojary, a resident of Adyar Katte, Nitin Poojary (21), son of Nitish Poojary, a resident of Farangipete and Kishan Poojary (21), son of Sudhir Poojary, a resident of Padil, Manglauru.

According to the sources, Kishan is a carpenter while Nitin and Pranesh are electricians by profession. The victim Sajid is a native of Malappuram and studies civil engineering in a city based private college. He was residing at a rented house at Bithupaade village near Adyar.

The incident had occurred on Friday when Sajid and his friend Naushad were returning home on a motorbike after having tea in Adyar. Three miscreants, who had parked their scooter on the roadside and posed as innocent travelers, signaled the duo to stop their motorbike and tried to attack Naushad with lethal weapons.

Naushad however was able to flee but the miscreants then attacked Saijd. He sustained hand and back injuries.

The bike used for the crime is seized by the CCB and has been handed to Mangaluru Rural Police Station.
