Bhatkal: The Bhatkal Media Cup 2025, an inter-district invitational cricket tournament organized by the Bhatkal Taluk Journalists Welfare Association, concluded successfully on Sunday at the Taluka Stadium—popularly known as the YMSA Ground—located in Nawayat Colony, Bhatkal, with the Bhatkal team emerging as champions.

The tournament was inaugurated on Saturday by Jali Pattan Panchayat President Afsha Qazia. In her address, she emphasized the spirit of sportsmanship and enthusiasm among athletes, stating, "Participation is more important than winning in sports."

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Bhatkal Municipal In-charge President Altaf Kharuri, Bhatkal PSI Naveen Naik, and several media representatives.

A total of six teams—including Karwar, Ankola, Sirsi, Bhatkal, and Udupi—participated in the tournament.

The winning Bhatkal team was awarded a cash prize of ₹33,333, while the runner-up team from Ankola received ₹22,222.
