Bantwal: In a gang war which occurred here at Farangipete in the taluk on 25th September, Monday, two died and three persons were severely injured.
The deceased have been identified as Zia, a resident of Adyarkatte and Fayaz of Adyar Birpugudde. Fazal, Hameez and Mushtaq are the ones injured during the incident. All the accused and victims are rowdy-sheeters from Kannur area, on the outskirts of Mangaluru.
According to the sources, Zia, Fayaz, Mushtaq, Fazal, Anees and Hameez were waylaid and attacked by the rival gang while they were traveling in a car. The gang attacked them with lethal weapons and Fayaz died on spot. However, the rest were rushed into a hospital, but Zia succumbed to his injuries.
“Three teams have been set up to investigate the matter and arrest the accused”, said Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police Sudheer Kumar Reddy.
A case has been registered.
