Mangaluru: 1.2kg ganja seized by CCB, three accused arrested for selling it to students

Mangaluru: Three youths were nabbed by the CCB police for selling ganja to college students at Kadri in the city on 3rd August, Thursday.

The accused have been identified as Loy Veigas (24 yrs) of Derebail, Pradeep Prabhu (27 yrs) of Kadri Kambala road and Almed Karkada (24), a resident of Falnir.

According to the police, these accused were selling ganja at the Bharath Beedi complex near Kadri Kambla road, which falls under east Kadri police station limits. It is gathered that they sold ganja to college students and others at Kadri.

The police arrested them and seized ganja weighing 1.2 kg, a Bajaj Platina bike and three mobile phones altogether worth Rs. 68,500. It was learned that they had bought the ganja from a supplier in Shikaripur in order to sell it in the city.

The youths and the seized items were handed over to the Mangaluru east police station for further action.

The operation took place on orders of police commissioner T R Suresh under the directions from DCP of law and order K M Shantharaju, crime and traffic division DCP Hanumantaraya and ACP CCRB Valentine D’ Souza.

CCB inspector Sunil Y Naik, Shyamunder, and staff participated in the operation.
