Bhatkal: A cash amount of Rs. 10,000 was awarded to Mohan Madev Naik of Bengrey village in Bhatkal for detecting a crack in the railway line and informing the officials on time.

The prize was awarded to Mohan on 15th June, Thursday by the Konkan Railway Corporation Limited for his alertness and timely responsiveness.

He had noticed a crack i.e. weld failure in the railway track between Bhatkal and Murdeshwar and quickly informed the officials. The officials rushed to the spot and repaired the damage.

Appreciating his alertness and sincerity, he was presented the cash price during the general meeting of the Bengrey gram panchayat on Thursday.
