Bhatkal: The annual educational award ceremony of Bhatkal's well known Lion Sports center was held at Sahoukat Ali cross road here on 2nd October, Monday, during which the brilliant students belonging to the sports center were awarded and encouraged.
The programme was presided over by the Chief Qazi of Jamaatul Muslimeen Bhatkal, Maulana Muhammed Iqbal Mulla Nadvi. Eleven outstanding students were awarded with gold medals, while another batch of 11 students were awarded with special prizes.
Addressing as the chief guest of the function, principal of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal, Maulana Maqbool Kobatte Nadvi said, “Acquiring knowledge and education is important, but we must also use the knowledge to recognize the almighty and serve its creations. If our intentions are clear and pure then any education or knowledge acquired is like acquiring religious knowledge.”
Stressing toward the various institutions in Bhatkal, he said that just as they encourage the brilliant students, they must also give special attention to students who drop out from schools and college. “Find out the reason behind their dropout and help them out, so that even they can achieve excellency”, he further added.
Speaking at the occasion, the chief Qazi of Markazi Khalifa Jamat-Ul-Muslimeen Bhatkal, Moulana Khwaja Moinuddin Akrami Nadwi stressed that the young students must not waste their time roaming here and there after the Isha prayer and asked to utilize that time to do their homework and study.
The programme started on Monday after the Asar prayers by the recitation of holy Quran by Hafiz Abubaker Gawai, which was followed by a naat by Hussain Maulmi Nadvi and Lion Anthem by Osama Armar. Patron of Lion Sports center Moulvi Abdul Aleem Qasmi welcomed the guests and audience.
The annual report of lion club was presented by president Abdul Mueed Shingheri and Moulana Samweel Nadvi compered the programme in a beautiful manner. During the programme Qazi Maulana Muhammed Iqbal Mulla Nadvi was felicitated for being elected as the president of Jamia Islamia and Mohammed Yusuf Kola was felicitated for being appointed as the principal of Anjuman PU College.
On this occasion, the director of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal, Shafi Shahbandari Patel and Deputy Qazi Moulana Abdul Rab Khateebi Nadwi also presented their view and encouraged the youths to excel in their studies. The programme concluded with a supplications from Moulana Iqbal Mulla Nadvi.
Lion general secretary Salheen Shingeri, active members Arshad Gawai, Mushtaque Mohtasim, Nayeem Motiya, Mohammed Faiz Mulla, Ashfaque Armar, Arkam Malam, Ateed Kola, Moulana Abdul Azeem Kazia Nadvi, Moulana Ansar Khateeb Madani, Ityaaz Udyawar, Mohammed Sadiq Matta, Abdul Kadir Basha Ruknuddin, Mohammed Iqbal Aykeri and others were present during this occasion.
