Karwar: IRB Construction has deployed rescue teams with adequate men and machines in three spots namely Ankola, Madangeri and Bengre in wake of the disastrous incident at Tandrakuli village for rescue work in case of any landslide due to road work along the stretch of National Highway 66 in the district.

A meeting was held by the district administration and the police with the general managers of NHAI and IRB Agency in the city recently and the latter were asked to deploy men and machine for rescue work, in case of landslide due to road work.

In its letter to the deputy commissioner, IRB agency has stated that it has deployed men and machines in three spots and they would be pressed for action in case of mishap in all the five coastal taluks of Uttara Kannada district.

As directed by DC S S Nakul, IRB and NHAI have identified dangerous spots on the highway and taken measures to prevent landslides and other calamities in these spots.
