Udupi: Hong Kong firm accused of deceit

Udupi: An Hong Kong-based iron ore manufacturing company has allegedly deceived a company operating in Udupi by offering low quality iron ore as against the agreement rules causing a loss of Rs 9.20 crore to the buyer.

According to the complainant, who is the representative from Hanuman Minerals and Phoenix International of Udupi, his company had an agreement with the Hong Kong-based Deviprasad Company to purchase 40,000 metric tonnes of iron ore of 50% FE quality and the agreement was signed on 2nd December, 2011.

However, Deviprasad Company has violated the agreement rules by transporting 43.9% of FE quality iron ore to the buyer.

A case has been registered in Manipal police station in this regard.
