Bhatkal: A girl from Bhatkal lost her life due to H1N1 fever on 24th June, Friday.
The deceased girl Bhuvaneshwari Ganpati Moger was a resident of Shirali Alvecodi in Bhatkal taluk. She was suffering from H1N1 fever and was admitted to KMC hospital in Manipal five days ago.
Malati, Bhuvaneshwari’s mother had also contacted the disease and is being treated at the hospital.
Bhuvaneshwari was initially admitted to a private hospital in Honnavar when she had fever. But when her condition got worse on 21st June, she was shifted to KMC hospital in Manipal.
There, she was diagnosed with H1N1 and her treatment began accordingly. But even after the treament she couldn’t survive and had her last breath on 24th June, Friday.
Bhatkal Goverment Hospital's Dr. Satish said that Health Department is taking measures to prevent the spread of the disease and is also organizing awareness programs in the village in the taluk about preventing the spread of disease.
Health Department official informed the villagers to maintain cleanliness and to take the children to the doctors the moment they come down with fever.
