Minister Ramalinga Reddy laid foundation stone for Ultra modern bus stand in Haliyal

Haliyal: Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on 11th July, Tuesday laid the foundation stone for an ultra modern bus stand here at Haliyal. The new stand is coming up in the town at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore.

Addressing the people, he said, “As a minister of transport, I have done my best to streamline the public transport system in the state."

"All the 11 talukas in Uttara Kannada district now have well-equipped bus stands and depots. The Siddaramiah led government has implemented almost all the pre-poll promises made in the party manifesto", he further added.

District Minister R V Deshpande spelt out various development works completed in Haliyal. He said that a tender for Rs 220 crore worth works for the Kali River Lift Irrigation Project will be floated before the end of the this month, with which the much desired facility of the farmers will be fulfilled.

Although the state government could waive 20 per cent of the loans availed by farmers from cooperative societies, the remaining 80 per cent is debts raised from the nationalised banks, he said and appealed to the Union Government to take steps to waive off the same.
