Udupi: A depressed youth committed suicide by deliberately laying himself on the railway track at Indrali Bridge here on 11th August, Friday. However, the incident came to light on the next day.
The deceased has been identified as Prathik Kumar (20 yrs), a resident of Nittur in the district. He was working in a private firm.
According to sources, the Police recovered a death note in which Prathik had stated that he was depressed. After investigation it was learnt that Prathik was depressed over love failure. It was gathered that Prathik had a fight with his girlfriend two days ago and they had stopped talking.
The incident came to light when Prathik did not reach home after leaving the office on Friday after completing his work. His family members were worried and started to search for him. Later his dead body was found on the railway track on Saturday.
A case has been registered in Manipal Police Station.
