Karwar: A two year-old female doe died after falling from the hill at Sankrubag in taluk on Tuesday.

The residents informed that, dogs had chased the doe, as a result it had come near village from the nearby forest.

While trying to escape from the dogs, the doe slipped from 7-8 ft high hill near the national highway and died immediately after the fall, they added.

Assistant Conservator of Forest Manjunath Navi said, the villager informed about the incident to forest officials. Later forest staff and veterinary doctor Dr. Manjappa visited the place.

After the post-mortem, the funeral was performed near the hill.
