Karwar: Deputy Commissioner S S Nakul exhorted that people must come forward and donate blood regularly as it not only saves lives but also boosts the health of the donors.
While addressing at a blood donation camp after inauguration, he said that every healthy person should consider blood donation as their duty and regular donate blood to help sick and wounded.
The camp was organised as a part of World Donation Camp co-ordinated as part of World Blood Donors day at the health and family welfare department office auditorium.
“Science has not yet been able to produce blood artificially. Therefore, people should voluntary come forward to donate blood. All healthy persons between 18 and 60 years, have minimum weight of 45 kg and HB 12.5 gm can donate blood once in three months”, said Dr. Mahabaleshwar Hegde.
