Mundagod : A couple from Hubballi committed suicide by hanging in a nursery near Bachanaki dam here at Mundagod on 24th August, Thursday.

According to Mundgod police, the deceased are Venkatesh Mallasamudra (35) and his wife Ashwini (26). Mallasamudra was a car driver by profession in Hubballi. About two months back, they got married and were staying at Mallasamudra’s aunt’s house at Indoor in Mundgod.

It was the second marriage of Ashwini, who had a child from her first marriage. On Wednesday, they left Indoor saying that they were going to see Mallasamudra’s parents in Hubballi, but were found hanging with a single rope.

The police said they got a letter stating no one is responsible for their death.
