Pakistan on Monday hoisted the largest flag in its history at Attari-Wagah border near Lahore to mark the country’s 70th Independence Day.
Pakistan army chief general Qamar Javed Bajwa hoisted the flag at the border at 12 in the midnight, kicking off the festivities of across the country.

Flash floods triggered by incessant rains have left at least 27 people dead and nearly six lakh others marooned in nearly two dozen districts in Bangladesh, officials said today.

At least 12 people were killed in a landslide in Nepal today, taking the death toll in floods and rain-related calamities to 78, while thousands remained displaced across the Himalayan nation, officials said.
Heavy rainfall has lashed Nepal for the past four days, swelling several Himalayan rivers beyond the danger mark and causing flooding and landslides at many places in the country.
