Heavy rains pounded the city and suburbs for the second day today, disrupting flight operations at the Mumbai airport and delaying suburban train services in the financial capital.

A false alarm over presence of an 'explosive' in the baggage of a passenger sent the security staff into a tizzy at the Mangaluru airport on Tuesday.

In a bizarre incident, a group of men broke into a house atAdumaroli near here and stole 99 sovereigns of gold ornaments and cash, only to return two days later with the booty and a piece of advice.
