Bhatkal :  Another landslide was reported at Otinene in Byndoor, 15kms from here,  which was caused due to heavy rainfall on early morning today, Sunday which blocked the NH66 for hours.

According to the sources, due to the expansion and construction of National Highway, rocks are being dug and this has weakened them. Two days before also there were reports of landslides at the same location, resulting in which highway was blocked for over four hours. 

This in turn has caused lot of trouble to the passengers traveling through this road. The landslide has completely blocked the NH66 and three bulldozers were working hard to clear off the rubble from the roads.

During this period, alternative arrangements were being made for the passengers and transportation.

When the landslides occurred two days back, the district administration had registered a case against the IRB company who were in charge of finishing the work on highway in February itself.

People are now expressing their anger on the IRB company for the recurring landslides.
