Karwar: Two people were killed on the spot, when the ambulance in which they were moving in was crashed over by a speeding private bus in the early hours of 27th May, Saturday here at Bisalkoppa village of Sirsi taluk. The accident reported on the Sirsi-Hubli state highway.
The deceased have been identified as Jagdish Channaya (20) and Ramkrishna Naik (40), residents of Siddapur. Ramkrishna was the driver of Ambulance, while Jagdish worked as an cleaner of the same ambulance.
The private bus on its way to Bangalore from Sirsi while the ambulance was coming to Sirsi from Hubli. The accident occurred on the turn of Hubli and Haveri rout at 12:30am. Both the vehicles collided head-on.
A case has been registered in Sirsi police station and further investigations are on.
