Kumta: A 12-year-old boy drowned in Narasimha temple tank at Kadle village in Kumta taluk on 14th August, Monday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Aditya Ambiga of Chittaragi village. Sources informed that on Monday evening, he went to swim in the lake with his friend and unfortunately went drowning. His friend alerted the villagers about the incident.

As the information was alerted, the Kumta police personnel rushed to the spot. Police along with the help of villagers launched a search operation and traced the body.

A case has been registered.
