Karwar: One person was killed, when a bike he was riding in met with the collision with Bolero pickup. The incident happened on 14th June, Wednesday, on NH 63 here at Biskodi cross of Yellapur in Uttara Kannada district.

The deceased bike rider has been identified as Narayan Marathi (50), a resident of Mavalli.

The incident reported when both the vehicles collided each other from opposite direction. In the impact of a collision, the bike rider received severe injuries and was taken nearby hospital and was later rushed to SDM Hospital of Dharwad. But sadly, the pain was unbearable to which he succumbed in the hospital.

Fearing the incident, the driver of Bolero pickup fled the scene after leaving the vehicle behind.

A case has been registered in Yellapur police station.
