Excelling students awarded medals by Rabita; new super speciality hospital in Bhatkal also announced

Bhatkal: Like previous years, even this year the 'Annual Rabita Education Award' ceremony was organized by Rabita Society Bhatkal to felicitate meritorious students from various schools at Anjuman High School Grounds on 11th August, Friday.

Speaking on this occasion, Bhatkal Rabita society general secretary Muhammed Younus Kazia said that considering the needs of the people, the Rabita society has approved to build a 'super specialty hospital' soon in Bhatkal or in any neighborhood area.

Addressing at the programme, the chief guest, HOD of Law department at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), member of All India Muslim Law Board, Dr. Muhammed Shakeel Ahmed Samdani said, "Muslim youths must attain higher education and lead others in every aspect of life".

He said that there was a time when Muslim had acheived great heights. Asia, Africa, Half of China, half of Russia, Spain and many other countries and islands were owned by them. But the present situation of Muslims is nothing compared to that era. During that period, we had a magnificient weapon and that was "The Holy Quran".

He further said, "On the basis of Quran, we had achieved knowledge and awareness of politics and had achieved victory over the world. Even now we have the Quran, but due to negligence and distance from it, the present condition of Muslims is so weak".

Dr. Samdhani also said that in the last 10-15 years awareness has been created in the Muslim youths on the importance of education. In Southern India, Muslims are way ahead in the field of education and now they are also coming forward in northern states such as Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Bengal and other states.

"There are no reservations for IAS, IPS, etc in India for muslims, even though there are poor muslims, muslims in weaker sections. Even though muslims don't even have colleges, they have provided three toppers in IAS exams for India. Firstly Javeed Usmani of Uttar Pradesh, Secondly Amar Subhani from Bihar and thirdly Shah Faisal from Kashmir", he added.

Dr. Samdhani stressed that Muslims must also concentrate of wordly knowledge alongside religious knowledge. They must enter into every fields such as Engineering, Science, Commerce, Geography, Law, Medical and also said that they must achieve proficiency in English language. He also advised the responsible organisations of Bhatkal to build a Law College in the taluk as by gaining the knowledge of law, the Muslim youth can be a lawyer and even a senior judge of Supreme Court in the future.

Another chief guest of the event, Minister of food and civil supplies U T Khader said, "The nation will not develop due to the ministers and corporates in the parliament. But it can only reach success if the youth of this nation achieve great heights in the field of knowledge." He further added saying, "In such case, we will leave a mark on this world."

He further said that the people who stand on the streets with mics shouting and screaming are not real patriots, but the ones who protect the future of our nation i.e the youths in the classrooms, are the real nation lovers and patriots. He stressed that Indian youth must concentrate in their studies because they are the future of our nation.

The programme began with the recitation of holy Quran by Abdul Basith Mannan following which the Rabita Anthem was sung by Zufaif Shingheri in his melodious voice. Rabita General Secretary Muhammed Younus Kazia welcomed the guest and presented their annual report.

The names of the honorable students who bagged the Rabita gold medal awards were announced by Muhammed Yusuf Barmawar. The students were handed over the awards by the chief guests and around 80% of the awards were received by girls. Shams English Medium School was awarded as the best Islamic school in Bhatkal and its incharge Principal Raza Manvi won the award for the best teacher.

Anjuman Boys High School teacher Abdullah Ruknuddin also received the award for best teacher. It is learnt that he was recently appointed by Anjuman.

The programme was compered by Rabita society Secretary Moulvi Tanveer Jushiddhi and Former president of Rabita Society Muhammed Sadiq Pillur presided over the programme and delivered the vote of thanks.

The dais was occupied by regional leaders of various organisations. The programme was attended by various men and women in huge number and it came to an end some time after Magrib salah.
