Bhatkal: After the announcement of 2nd PU results in March 2017, few students have applied for re-valuation. Interestingly, the re-evaluation results have brought up a student of Anjuman PU College for Women, Bhatkal at 1st rank in the entire Uttara Kannada district in Arts stream.

Earlier, three students from the district were placed at 1st rank, but were dropped to the second rank after the revaluation results were out.

As per the rank details issued from Uttar-Kannada district Pre-University educational department office, the student of Anjuman PU College for Women Bhatkal, Mariam Haneen d/o Irshad Peshmam has secured 568 marks out of 600, totaling to 94.66% and has topped in the district.

The other student who placed second rank in the district was also from Anjuman PU College for Women, in Arts stream, Ayesha Urooj d/o Muhammad Irfan Ajaib, who secured 566 marks which recorded 94.33%. 

Apart from this, there are other two students, Omkar Santosh Pauskar of Karwar Govt College and Ankita Prabhakar Naik of Hiregutti Govt PU College who secured 566 marks, and have gotten the second rank in the district.

It should be noted, initially, when the results were announced, Mariam Haneen had scored 562 marks. But unsatisfied with her results, she applied for a revaluation. After the re-evaluation, it was found that her marks have increased with 6 additional marks. This led Mariam Haneen to obtain a 1st rank position in the Uttar Kannada district.

The principal of Anjuman College, Farzana Mohtesham and Vice principal Taliya Muallim congratulated both of their students who secured 1st and 2nd rank in the district and wished for more success in their future. President of Anjuman Hami e Muslimeen Abdul Rahim Jukaku, General Secretary Siddique Ismail, additional secretary Ishaque Shahbandri and other office bearers including the teaching staffs wished both the students for their achievements.

It should be observed that the students of Anjuman institutions are not only seen topping at the taluk or district level, but also the names of Anjuman degree college students have recorded in the top-10 list of university level toppers. This achievement of Anjuman has brought a huge milestone to the town.
