Mundgod: An incident was reported at Mundgod taluk where a farmer, who was working in his paddy field at Bhadrapur village near Pala was allegedly attacked by a bear on 10th June, Saturday.
The victim is identified as Naganagouda Chandragouda Basanagouda (28 yrs) who is a farmer in Bhadrapur village in Mundgod. The police sources say that he has sustained injuries in his head, stomach and hand, and has been admitted to Mundagod taluk hospital.
According to the sources, the incident occurred when Naganagouda went to his paddy field on Saturday morning. It is said that while he was working, a bear came from a banana plantation near his field and attacked him from behind.
It was his luck that farmers from nearby fields heard him scream and arrived to his rescue. The doctors have said that he is now out of danger.
Range forest officer Shrishail Inapur visited him at the hospital.
