Bhatkal: One person was killed, two others injured when a Bolero mini-truck rammed into two bikes at Bunder road, near Dongarpalli cross on Wednesday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Nagappa Naik (45), a resident of Talgod of Mavinkurwe panchayat limits while the injured were identified as Marwan S/O Owais Jafran (22), and Sawood  S/O Jaffar Tahira (22)  residents of  Magdoom colony and Asarkeri respectively.

Sawood received multiple injuries over the head, while Marwan sustained leg injuries. The injured were immediately rushed to Manipal after providing preliminary first aid at a private hospital in Bhatkal. The body of the deceased was sent for post-mortem to Bhatkal Govt hospital.

A case has been registered in Bhatkal town police station.
