Karwar: Rajyotsava should not be restricted to a single day or month. We must constantly teach Kannada language to our children and make them aware of its rich land, culture and tradition. This would be a real tribute to our State, said District In-charge Minister Shashikala Jolle.
Speaking after hoisting the national flag on the occasion of Kannada Rajyotsava in Karwar on Friday, she said that each Kannadiga must pledge to save and promote our land and language and Rajyotsava Day was the best occasion to take the pledge.
“On one hand, Rajyotsava is being celebrated and on the other hand, we all Kannadigas have the responsibility of wiping the tears of those affected by the floods in the State. The State government is working to rehabilitate them. It is also responding to the needs of the fishermen under trouble. However, people also need to co-ordinate honestly with the government to help affected people,” she said.
