Karwar: Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Mohammed Roshan has said, the rains have given a respite across the district and hence, the officials of various departments should start the civil works as there is conducive weather condition at present in the district, he added.

Speaking during the progress review meeting of various departments, held at Zilla Panchayat auditorium in the City on Wednesday, he said, various developmental works of many departments were halted due to the heavy rainfall and deluge. However, all the works should be resumed within one month, he directed.

He also said, the works below five lakhs under the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Department should be started before October 31.

The Drinking Water & Sanitation Department Karwar division should make changes in the action plan regarding the drinking water which was prepared earlier.

A separate action plan should be prepared within four days, after inspecting the drinking water supply works which were affected by the flood, he asked the officials.

The chief executive officer enraged over the officials of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Scheme and ‘Namma Grama, Namma Raste’ scheme for not providing appropriate information during the meeting and warned the planning division executive engineer to provide all the information regarding the works through a power point presentation in the next KDP and general body meetings.

The Akshara Dasoha officials should prepare an action plan for developing backyard gardens in the government schools, anganwadis and hostels, he said and added that an approval will be given to the action plan through the Zilla Panchayat.

Zilla Panchayat President Jayashree Moger, Education & Health Standing Committee President Ratnakar Naik, and others were present on the occasion.
