Honnavar: A 17-year-old boy, Muhammad s/o Riaz Abdul Hameed Quazi, was killed in a road accident that happened on Honnavar-Bengaluru state highway near Valki in the taluk on Thursday.

It is reported that the deceased Mohammad Quazi was riding pillion with his cousin Mohammad Naif Quazi (24) riding the bike during which a speeding car crashed into them from behind and fled the scene. Muhammad and Naif both fell off the bike as soon as the collision took place, but Muhammad Quazi succumbed to his injuries on the spot. Naif sustained minor injuries in the accident.

It is learned that Muhammad Quazi was doing PUC in Honnavar College after completing his schooling in Dubai.

A case has been registered at the Honnavar police station and further investigation is underway.
