Bhatkal: A 25-Year-Old youth was found murdered here at a private lodge in Bhatkal on Saturday night at around 9:30 PM.

The deceased is identified as Affan Jabali, a resident of Muglihonda in Bhatkal.

It is said that locals have caught one of the residents of Muglihonda and handed over him to the police on charges of murder, while Nabeel Jabali, brother of Affan, claims that he saw five persons running out of the respective room, in which one person was caught. According to Nabeel, as soon as he arrived at the hotel, his brother was already killed, he immediately removed the wrapped cloth around the face and neck of Affan, so that he could be saved if the breath was running, but unfortunately, he was no more.

On receiving the information, Bhatkal ASP Nikhil and team rushed to the spot. Thousands of people too started gathering at the spot and the situation witnessed a tense atmosphere for a while. Locals demanded that the murderers be arrested immediately and not given a chance to escape.

About Muhammad Affan, it is said that he had arrived Bhatkal from Bengaluru on the same day morning. It is said that a former owner of a famous hotel in Muglihonda is involved in the murder, who has been arrested by the police. Some locals blame that blackmailing might be the reason, which has led to a quarrel that ended up with a murder in the hotel room. However, the exact reason behind the murder is expected to know only after police investigations.

A car was also found outside the hotel. People said that the car belonged to the person who has been arrested.

Affan's body was initially first taken to Bhatkal Government Hospital, from where the body was then rushed to Manipal hospital late at night for post mortem.

Police have collected the footage from CCTV cameras installed in the premises of the hotel, and have launched the investigations.
